Start Pulse Interface Box
The SPI (Start Pulse Interface) box can be purchased directly from BMX Track Supply Timing Systems. They are made by ProGate and work with all other gates.
The SPI plugs into the back of the decoder with a 15 pin din cable. It is powered by the decoder and a blue "Ready" LED light shows when connected and the decoder is powered up.
It is connected to the start control box by 2 wires, we recommend 20g single core copper wire (bell wire) because this fits into the conmnectors well. The wire runs from the SPI at the decoder end to the start control box on the start hill.
When the gate drops the green LED flashes briefly, then the red LED comes on for 5 seconds. The green LED is the start pulse and the red LED is a blocker which stops unwanted start signals from getting through.

How to connect the Start Pulse Interface Box
There are 2 different types of gate signal: - Dry Signal the start gate controller completes a circuit (no voltage) which makes the Start Pulse Box send a start signal to the decoder. - 12v Signal the start gate controller sends a voltage signal (12 - 24V) which makes the Start Pulse Box send a start signal to the decoder.
Warning
Always check with the start gate manufacturer if unsure.
